Low Self Esteem

A person with low self-esteem may show some of the following characteristics:

Heavy self-criticism and dissatisfaction.
Hypersensitivity to criticism with resentment against critics and feelings of being attacked.
Chronic indecision and an exaggerated fear of mistakes.
Excessive will to please and unwillingness to displease any petitioner.
Perfectionism, which can lead to frustration when perfection is not achieved.
Neurotic guilt, dwelling on and exaggerating the magnitude of past mistakes.
Floating hostility and general defensiveness and irritability without any proximate cause.
Pessimism and a general negative outlook.
Envy, invidiousness, or general resentment.

We all know someone who suffers from low self esteem. We try to help the through this by trying to boost up their ego, but it doesn’t help. Why? Because it’s not how we see them, it’s how they see themselves.

There are many reasons why a person can suffer from low self esteem, from a change in their life, or the personal changes whether it be the outside appearance or etc. My advice for anyone suffering from this is to take some time out for themselves, figure out what they aren’t satisfied with and how they can come to gain their self esteem back.

What would be your suggestion to help someone boost their self esteem?
